From Bangkok to Chiang Mai this trip takes in some of our personal favorite destinations and experiences in Thailand, some on, some off the trodden path. Highlights include: cycling through Bangkok as the sunsets, exploring the temples of Ayutthuya by ‘kermit tuk’, learning about the traditional body art of Sak Yant, getting up close and personal with the elephant’s at Boon Lott’s sanctuary and an insider’s night tour of Chiang Mai.
An adventurous journey traversing the stunning northern region of Laos and continuing to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang, this Laos fam allows a deeper insight into the diverse experiences and sceneries on offer. Offering plenty of opportunity for cultural interaction with the local hilltribes, time spent exploring the rugged scenery, stays in some of the country’s most interesting properties and plenty of Exo Touches, a great introduction to Laos.
Travelling from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh and continuing South along the country’s lesser known coast line, this trip takes in the better known and up and coming sites of Cambodia. Highlights include: An exclusive meal at the Exotissimo tented camp at Ream, a private monk blessing, Khmer cooking class, Ream National Park and 4 Rivers Floating Lodge in the remote Cardamom mountains.
A genuine best of tour this journey starts in Ho Chi Minh City, known locally as Saigon where we explore the city, it’s people and food on two feet and two wheels. Heading to the Mekong Delta visit rural lifestyles and enjoy the produce of the region. Head down the coast line of Vietnam exploring the ancient sites of Hue before embarking on an adventure to the recently opened up Phong Nha caves. Following a night on Halong Bay, end in Vietnam’s Northern capital, Hanoi and experience a unique culinary tour of the city with a local food blogger.
If time allows continue on the Vietnam journey into the mountainous northern regions of the country, Sapa and Ha Giang. This extension allows a look into the more well known hill tribe area of Sapa and the emerging Ha Giang, bordering China.
This 8-day program is one of our best selling itineraries, looping from Yangon to Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake. Highlights include: monk blessing, visit to the mighty Shwedagon Pagoda, travelling by horse and cart through Bagan, meeting with a local fortune teller, sunset cocktails by U Bein Bridge, lunch in an Inthar Family house on Inle Lake and a ride on Yangon’s circle train. An optional extension is on offer visiting Pindaya and Kalaw and the Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp, a project investing in the preservation of these majestic animals and local cultures.
The best of two highly contrasting islands, this in-depth tour starts in Sulawesi at the most well preserved Dutch fort in Indonesia. The next few days are spent meeting with the Bugis people of Sulawesi and learning about the fascinating Torajan culture and practices, visiting a buffalo market and sampling local cuisine. From Makkasar to Bali, you will then try a cooking class in Ubud, receive a blessing from a priest, climb Mount Batur before ending on one of the island’s famous beaches.
